Traffic Engineering Benefits Becker Road Neighborhoods

 

Becker Road is a two-lane road running east-west between I-95 and the Florida Turnpike. Growth within the area and plans to build new interchanges at both I-95 and the Florida Turnpike will require expanding Becker Road to four lanes. Key design solutions developed by Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council and assisted by RETTEW, include providing alternate local- traffic routes and a system of alleys to disperse traffic and simplify circulation, two roundabouts and a civic square to slow traffic along the corridor and provide a sense of place, new gateways including an entrance feature when approaching from Martin County, and shortening the proposed I-95 entrance ramp. The Becker Road neighborhoods have the opportunity to become the best in St. Lucie County!
