"Shoring Up" Natural Landscapes and Recreational Opportunities

RETTEW and WRT Design are developing a master plan to preserve the Susquehanna River corridor's rich natural and cultural heritage and to improve access to land- and water-based recreational resources. The Susquehanna River Corridor Master Plan is intended to serve as a model for other large-scale landscape protection efforts in the region. The plan will focus on preserving the Lancaster and York County landscapes along both sides of the corridor, restoring native plant and animal habitat to enhance the region's bio-diversity, and providing recreational opportunities for hunting, fishing, and hiking. RETTEW will coordinate efforts with The Nature Conservancy to successfully update the existing natural areas inventory, as well as conduct the public participation and outreach activities.
