A Gold Rush in the Making
Rush Township is located in western Centre County in the Moshannon Creek Valley. It is the second-largest township in the state, encompassing 151 miles. Moshannon Creek is the township's western boundary. The eastern half is primarily State-owned land, which includes the Moshannon State Forest, Black Moshannon State Park, and game lands. In the face of increased development pressure, the Board of Supervisors contracted with RETTEW to work with the Township's Planning Commission to prepare a comprehensive plan. Through the development of the plan, the Board of Supervisors was able to implement its vision by developing a future land-use plan to promote economic development opportunities.
