Maryland's Eastern Shore Offers Rich History Upon Which to Build

 

West Denton is nestled in Maryland's Eastern Shore along the Choptank River, which has played a pivotal part in the town's maritime history. When a master plan for a new 850-acre, mixed-use community in West Denton failed to consider the Choptank River as part of its overall layout, John Moynahan Urban Design and Planning turned to RETTEW to redesign the master plan to incorporate the river. The result was a plan that was more sensitive to the area's history, native bird habitat, and geographic features. With five distinct neighborhoods designed in a Traditional Neighborhood Pattern, 3,000+ units of attached and detached housing, and 150,000+ SF of commercial space, West Denton is one of the Eastern Shore's best kept secrets.
