Rural-Suburban Living with Room to Grow
The West Lampeter Township Comprehensive Plan Update intended to completely revise the Township's existing 1989 comprehensive plan. The township presented a unique challenge, as it is one of the fastest-growing townships in Lancaster County yet still retains more than 60 percent of its existing land use in agriculture, a majority of which is considered prime farmland. A primary goal of this plan was to achieve a balance of growth potential, agricultural preservation, and tax-base diversification. The plan contained significant recommendations for renewal of the Township's two villages of Willow Street and Lampeter. RETTEW received a Certificate of Merit from the Pennsylvania Planning Association for this project.
