One-of-a-Kind Traditional Neighborhood Development

 

The developer for this project wanted to design a Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) in York Township. Since this area has a highly competitive residential market, there were already four other TNDs proposed within three miles of this project site. The client needed a design that would stand out among the other designs and raise the bar for the TND market in York County, and RETTEW stepped up to the challenge. A highly intensified six-day planning charrette involving public officials and other stakeholders produced a 246-acre TND with approximately 1,300 residential units of all types, multiple community-oriented building sites, 250,000 SF of commercial space in a town center format, and 108 acres of public open space.
