Going Home Again : The Wave of the Future in Residential Land Planning
Local officials of Lower Paxton Township challenged developers and their land planning partners to propose mixed-use, Traditional Neighborhood Developments (TNDs) that would promote healthier, more active lifestyles. RETTEW responded by designing Shadebrook, featuring a mixed-use main street with more than 60,000 SF of commercial space within walking distance, open space, trails, a spring-fed pond, and a park. A variety of housing, built in the traditional style of the pre-World War II era, will evoke memories of a simpler time.
